Local filmmakers Nick Juzdan and Joseph Robert Redl will be discussing fundraising and accepting donations for their new short film at The Fine Grind on Wednesday, September 9 from 7pm-9pm and Saturday, September 19 from 2pm-4pm Anyone who donates a minimum of $5 on those dates, will get 10% off their Fine Grind purchase.
These filmmakers are currently crowdfunding for “Kingwood” on Indiegogo, while also doing fundraisers in their local community. Please go to this link to participate in crowdfunding for their project and help make this film come to life: bit.ly/KingwoodFilm. The money will go to the production of the film, which includes travel, food, equipment, actor compensation, crew, art design and locations.
Juzdan and Redl have worked on many projects together including, but not limited to, “Daniel In The Lion’s Den” (2014) and “X’s On Trees” (2015). They both share the same passion for cinema and have started a film company called Terrible Films, which has produced videos and short films in Northern New Jersey. Nick grew up very involved in theater and the arts in his community. He also is very involved in the Montclair Film Festival working as a volunteer and moving into leadership roles. Joe is currently a senior in the filmmaking program at Montclair State University and has also worked on professional shoots. Together they have committed countless hours to their craft.
Their last film “X’s on Trees” was a huge success, with a sold out premiere and lots of interest in what was going to come next. “X’s On Trees” is currently submitted to film festivals across the world, in hopes to give the piece more exposure. Even though they just finished wrapping their last project, they are hard at work on their next film, “Kingwood”. Kingwood is a story of greed, betrayal and what it truly means to be on your own. The film centers around two brothers who must set aside their vices in order to sell their late father’s estate.
Juzdan and Redl continue to work with a vast group of people who all bring diversity and varied strengths to their projects. Their main goal is to share films that will send a message and that people will be able to enjoy.
