Memoirist Joanne Ferreri will be selling and signing her double book For the Love of Food/For the Love of Wood at The Fine Grind Coffee bar in Little Falls on Saturday, February 11 from 11am to 1pm.
Ferreri supports the initiative “Nourish the Children,” which is a non –profit that feeds children with nutrient-rich meals from around the world. 100% of the proceeds are donated by Ferreri to this group. Ferreri grew up in Brooklyn and has written this memoir as an homage to her Italian parents. Filled with photos, endearing anecdotes and recipes, Ferreri’s book came about as a combined desire to honor her parents and to feed 1,000 undernourished children. On her first try, through a book signing, she was able to donate 1,900 meals in three days.
